Taylor Swift announces 12th studio album on Travis Kelce’s podcast after high-profile year together

Swift revealed 'The Life of a Showgirl' during an appearance on Kelce’s 'New Heights' podcast, marking another public milestone in a relationship that has included global tours, high-profile appearances, and Super Bowl celebrations.

Taylor Swift has announced her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, appearing alongside partner Travis Kelce on his "New Heights" podcast with cohost Jason Kelce. The announcement follows Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour, which concluded in December 2024, and comes during a period of sustained public interest in the couple’s relationship.

Swift and Kelce first crossed paths publicly when he attended her Kansas City “Eras Tour” concert in July 2023. Kelce later recounted attempting to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number, a gesture that drew media attention. By September 2023, Swift was attending Kansas City Chiefs games, including one where she sat with Kelce’s mother, Donna Kelce. Public sightings, including joint appearances on Saturday Night Live in October 2023 and Kelce’s trip to Buenos Aires for Swift’s tour, confirmed their relationship.

Their high-profile year included joint public events, such as celebrating the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LVIII victory in February 2024, Kelce’s cameo during Swift’s Wembley Stadium concert in June, and appearances at Coachella and on vacation in Lake Como, Italy. Swift also made Kelce’s relationship “Instagram official” by sharing a concert photo with him, Prince William, and the Prince’s two eldest children.

Kelce has been present at several of Swift’s tour stops in Europe and South America, while Swift has attended multiple Chiefs games. The couple also hosted a gathering at Swift’s Rhode Island property, attended family weddings together, and spent time with other high-profile friends including Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Bradley Cooper.

Swift’s influence has extended to Kelce’s professional sphere, with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes noting her interest in football strategy. In April 2024, Swift released The Tortured Poets Department, with fans speculating about references to Kelce in the track “The Alchemy.” Kelce named the album among his favorites, alongside Swift’s 1989.

Their relationship has been documented across major events: from Swift’s music milestones, including regaining control of her music catalog, to Kelce’s NFL season and off-field ventures such as becoming part-owner of a racehorse named Swift Delivery. Swift’s new album announcement on Kelce’s podcast marks the first time the pair have engaged in a public conversation together.
