A series of alarming syringe attacks struck Fête de la Musique celebrations across France, leaving an estimated 145 people injured, many of them teenage girls.
The incidents began in Metz and quickly spread to other cities, prompting emergency services to establish triage centers and hospitalize more than a dozen victims for toxicological testing.
Police have arrested 12 suspects tied to at least 50 confirmed stabbings, and are now analyzing mobile phone footage to identify further perpetrators, while authorities work to reassure the public amid nationwide anxiety.
