A bride was fatally shot and three others, including her groom and a 13‑year‑old child, were seriously wounded when masked gunmen opened fire as the couple left their wedding reception in Goult, southeastern France.

One assailant was killed when struck by the couple’s car during their desperate escape, and police have launched a major manhunt for the remaining three suspects, proceeding on the assumption that this was a targeted, gang‑related attack.

Authorities from the Avignon prosecutor’s office are investigating under statutes covering murder and attempted murder by an organized criminal group.
