United Kingdom and France Tighten Migration Treaty to Close Loopholes in Human Smuggling Routes
The United Kingdom and France have revised their “one-in-one-out” migration agreement after authorities identified loopholes that allowed smugglers to re-enter Britain using lorries after deportations to France. Under the updated deal, UK authorities will be able to return individuals entering the country illegally regardless of the mode of transport, in an effort to close enforcement gaps.
