The total number of job openings rose to 7.391 million in April, up from 7.200 million in March, as reported in the latest Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS).
March's job openings were also revised upwards from an initial figure of 7.192 million.
Economists had predicted that job openings would reach 7.100 million for April.
