Scheduled disruptions expected in Paris and western France as major labor actions unfold.
The CGT, the leading union at SNCF, has announced a strike notice for June 4 and 5, 2024. According to the company's management, TGV and Intercités trains are expected to run normally during this period, although disruptions are anticipated on certain lines in the Paris region and some TER services in western France.
Specifically, while TGV and Intercités routes should maintain standard operations, the SNCF has indicated that TER traffic will face significant impacts on Wednesday and Thursday in the Occitanie and Nouvelle-Aquitaine regions, with disruptions limited to Thursday in Brittany.
Notably, Wednesday's service will see substantial disruptions on the RER B line in the Île-de-France region, primarily affecting the northern section which connects to the Gare du Nord; the southern section is operated by RATP. The RER C line is expected to experience minor disruptions.
For Thursday, the strike notice is part of a larger interprofessional mobilization against pension reforms, advocating for employment and wage increases, and is not exclusive to SNCF operations.
The strike on June 4 specifically concerns SNCF train drivers.
Additionally, another strike notice has been issued for June 11, specifically targeting controllers within the company.
