The co-manager of Courbaisse Transports is remembered for his significant contributions to the local economy and community.
Pascal Biscroma, co-manager of Courbaisse Transports, passed away on May 5, 2025, at the age of 54. Renowned as a fervent advocate for the local economic fabric of Alpes-Maritimes, his sudden death was attributed to a rapid-forming brain tumor that took his life within a few weeks.
His colleagues and friends have begun to pay tribute to Biscroma, whose larger-than-life presence and dedication to his community have left an indelible mark.
Biscroma was known as the 'gentle giant,' both for his physical stature—standing at nearly 1.90 meters and weighing 130 kilograms—and for his immense commitment to fostering economic growth in the region.
His passing has created a considerable void among local entrepreneurs.
Pierre Ippolito, the head of the Ippolito Group and president of the Union For Business 06, characterized Biscroma as a loyal childhood friend and an exceptional leader who was instrumental from Fréjus to Menton, including in the hinterland valleys.
The late entrepreneur was recognized for his ability to unite, exemplified by the creation of Squadra Unica, an informal network of business colleagues from diverse backgrounds who bonded over meals and business contracts.
Philippe Biscroma, Pascal's brother, recalls their beginnings in the family workshop and the challenges faced after their father’s death in 1987, highlighting Pascal’s pivotal role in transforming the company.
Under their combined leadership, Courbaisse Transports expanded from 25 to over 70 employees, establishing a strong brand presence and acquiring garages in nearby locations.
Despite facing a terminal diagnosis, Biscroma’s spirit remained unbroken.
He maintained a positive demeanor even during hospital treatments, cherishing time spent with friends and family.
In a display of his character, he organized a gathering with friends and suppliers to say farewell before his passing, reinforcing the notion of community that he held dear.
A civil ceremony honoring Pascal Biscroma’s life will take place on May 10, 2025, at 10 AM in the town square of Castagniers, followed by an interment at the village cemetery.
He is also remembered for his involvement as co-president of La Selecioun, a local amateur football club, further illustrating his longstanding dedication to community engagement and development.
