India’s Unified Payments Interface, or UPI, has officially launched in France, allowing Indian tourists to make seamless digital payments at major attractions and retailers.

The system, already widely used across Asia, enables instant rupee-to-euro conversions through mobile apps.

Officials say the initiative will boost tourism, enhance cultural exchange, and position France as a leader in adopting cross-border fintech solutions.
