Illegitimate Work: Urssaf Recovers €580 Million in Île-de-France in 2024
Urssaf ramps up social fraud prevention actions significantly in the region.
In 2024, Urssaf (Union de recouvrement des cotisations de sécurité sociale et d’allocations familiales) has reported a noteworthy increase in its recovery actions in Île-de-France, amounting to €580 million, which marks a 34% rise compared to 2023. The agency conducted over 11,000 actions against social fraud, focusing mainly on prevention, an increase of 25% from the previous year.
These figures account for 37% of the total recoveries made nationwide, despite Île-de-France hosting only a quarter of the country's enterprises.
Didier Malric, the regional director of Urssaf, highlighted the significance of these developments, emphasizing a strong commitment to eradicating undeclared work.
The number of inspectors in the region has expanded from 30 to 58 over the past eight years.
Plans are in place to double this number further with the planned recruitment of 60 additional inspectors, a move aligned with the objectives set by Gabriel Attal, who initiated measures against social fraud during his tenure as Minister of Public Accounts in 2023. Following a training period of one year for new recruits, not all positions have yet been filled, according to Malric.
