The European Commission has activated its civil protection mechanism to coordinate a large-scale response to wildfires across France, Spain, Greece, and Portugal. More than 19,000 hectares have been burned, prompting the deployment of firefighting crews, aircraft, and security support in what officials describe as one of the most extensive coordinated emergency efforts to date.
