Bouches-du-Rhône imposes partial ban on work in forest massifs due to wildfire risk
On August 23 the prefecture limited work to 5:00–13:00 in all massifs, urging vigilance and compliance.
The authorities in Bouches‑du‑Rhône announced that, because of very dry conditions and high wildfire danger, work is only permitted in forest massifs between 5:00 and 13:00 on Saturday, 23 August.
After 13:00 all professional and agricultural activities in these wooded areas must stop, although preventive measures and fire‑fighting equipment are required even during the permitted hours.
Residents are reminded to respect access closures, avoid barbecues and smoking, and to report any fire immediately to emergency services.
These temporary measures aim to reduce ignition risks during a critical period for wildfires.
