Warwickton Sold ...The following article was also found amoungst my Grandmother Constance Estella Warwick McGill's clippings concerning her Warwick ancestors. I did not have the name of the paper, but it was with other clippings from a West Virginia Paper around 1934. I believe it to be around Bath or Pocathontas County, W. Va. Warwickton was a Warwick family homestead in Virginia that my ninth generation cousins ancestors (Judge James Wood Warwick family) owned and built in 1848. The Article Reads... This is one of the oldest homesteads in this section of the state, and has been in the Warwick family for four generations. One of the first patents to some of the land was issued by George II of England to Jacob Warwick grandfather of Judge Warwick, one of the heroes of Point Pleasant. The farm consists of 2,500 acres and it is understood the new owners will turn it into a hunters paradise, as it is peculiarly suited for such.
